Day 23

Day 2 of the Mark Twain Festival was the raft race. It's always so much fun. The Upper School of my school (7th- 12th grades) are divided into 4 home rooms, which compete for different things. This is one of the home room competitions- each home room builds a raft and then they race them. They are also judged for aesthetics, which is why we built a fire on our raft.

Obviously, we put the fire out before the race, so no one got burned or anything. It was really fun to build. It was a fairly windy day and so we were kept lighting some dry grass and then throwing a whole bunch of other stuff on top. It took quite a while to really get a real fire going. It was great :)

The winners of the first two races compete for 1st and 2nd place. It was perfect weather, really warm but not too hot. Unfortunately, my home room got 3rd place.
