Well, Play Week is going swimmingly. The play is Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, adapted by Barbara Field. This week has gone so fast! Tomorrow morning we have a dress rehearsal, and tomorrow night is our first performance. It went pretty smoothly, all things considered, but it is definitely... different than any play my school has done before.
This post is going to have a lot of pictures.
(And I resized them BEFORE adding them- so it took 5 seconds instead of 5 minutes per picture! Yay!)
The first day of rehearsals getting underway.
This would be funnier if you could see just how far his feet are off of the ground :).
Estella, Miss Havisham, and Pip. And the lovely red play books.
Pip's parent's graves. How touching.
Teehee. The props people had a little bit of fun with the rest of the graves...
Beth and her awesome Clara hair.
The set, very partially up. Hopefully I'll be able to take some pics of the completed set tomorrow. It's pretty cool.
No, we don't actually use mics in the performance. That would be so lame. This just happened to be sitting on a bench. And so, I took a picture of it. Naturally.
Vica has awesome eyes...
Clara Barley's costume... until they changed it.
Biddy. Her costume is one of my favorites.
Andrew, as Herbert Pocket. He later got a top hat and a jeweled pin for his cravat (which is now black). Classy, bro.
Miss Havisham. I love that dress!
I love Play Week :). And though this year has maybe not been quite as fun as previous years, it's still been a blast. I'll be sad when it's over! More to come.
