this is home.

On Saturday my dad decided to take me on a little "adventure" around town.
...
Have I ever mentioned that I *LOVE* St. Louis? Because I do. It was an amazingly fun day. And I took a lot of pictures. And so, consequently, this post is going to have a lot of pictures. And when I say a lot... I mean, as in, more than I have ever posted in one single blog post. Sorry, I just couldn't choose :).

We ate in this little area of town that I'd never been to before. It was, apparently, called "The Village". I had to take some pictures of the little revolving globe sign thing.

We ate at this restaurant called Pujols 5. Which is, in fact, owned by Albert Pujols. I got filet mignon. And it was the best. thing. ever. I can't believe I didn't take a picture. I guess I was a little too busy wolfing it down.

I don't know about you, but I love the city. I love busy streets, shining lights, shops lining the road. I especially love the city at night. Especially after it rains. Haha. I'm starting to sound like Taylor Swift. There's a glow off the pavement...

After driving around for awhile, we went to the Grand Basin in Forest Park. It was kind of cold, but we toughed it out long enough for me to get a few pictures of the gorgeous fountain...

And then, to downtown. I LOVE downtown Saint Louis. The quaint little horse-drawn carriages...

The interesting architecture...
 And, of course, the Citygarden

If you live in or near St. Louis, and have not been there, you need to. Seriously. It's a totally free little... wonderland of strange sculptures and fun little... things. It's kind of hard to describe. It was only built about a year or less ago. I've only been there once, in the summer. They had all of these little fountain things to play in. But when we drove past on Saturday, I kind of freaked out.

They had replaced the area where the fountains were with these little... things.

Little glowing balls of... something. That changed color. I stood and stared at them and snapped pictures for a long time.

It was a cold night, and it was dark, and these little balls of light just seemed so... amazing to me.

I want some of these for my backyard.

And then another favorite of mine, these little bunnies. Aren't they adorable? Aww.

This Pinocchio sculpture looked a lot creepier at night than it did during the day :).

I don't really like a lot of random modern art-sy sculptures. But these guys are actually pretty cool.

You can go inside his head. If I was a hobo, that would totally be my new house.

 The new Citygarden restaurant.

After this we went and got Oberweis shakes and then went and saw I Am Number Four in IMAX. It was really good (both the shake and the movie, actually). I would strongly recommend it, especially in IMAX.

Anyway... I love the country. I lived there for half of my life and it was wonderful in so many ways. But, that said, I don't think I would want to move back there. I'm definitely a city girl. I love St. Louis.

Do you prefer the city or the country?

I'm a country girl, I must admit. Though it's harder to people watch in the middle of nowhere. :)
