2011.

I can hardly believe how fast time flies.
How can it be 2011?
Wasn't it just a week ago that we were all celebrating the new 2010?
Well, I went over to my friend Anna's house for new year's. We had a lot of fun. Too much, perhaps? Probably not.

I'm usually not one for making New Years resolutions, but this year I thought I'd give it a try.
Mostly, these things have to do with disciplining and organizing my life more.
Such as:
-Running. At least 3 times a week. Starting today. I started out this school year well, but around Thanksgiving I just sort of gave it up. I need to burn off all of these Christmas cookies. :)
-Homework. Right after running, and before I do anything else. Procrastination is something I need to stop.
-Reading. Not just for school. And not junk. (And not Harry Potter. It seems like whenever I have any free time to read, I read Harry Potter. I need to expand my horizons a little bit more, I'm thinking.) There are really great books out there. Thousands. Millions. Billions. Thousands of Millions of Billions. There's no way to read them all, but I'd better get started now if I want to try.
-Blogging. Every day, if I can. This means getting up early in the morning to post. It's just not getting done after school.
-School. I am laid-back, slightly (OK, majorly) lazy person, by nature. In the moment it feels great to slack off, to not do my best on an assignment, to not study well for a test, or to space off in class. But it's not a good feeling to get back the grade reflective of the mediocre effort. Third quarter is always the worst for this- right after break, sort of just stuck there in the middle of the year, boring weather, the subjects beginning to get more than a bit old, and with no major breaks in sight. It's really easy to slack off. To not care enough to put in the work. And that's what I'm going to have to labor to avoid: to make the grades I want to see, and to get the education offered me, even if the process is little less than torture.
-Photography. To take fewer pictures. That sounds strange, but the issue is not the amount of things I take pictures of, but the amount of pictures I take of each thing. I have only had my camera since August, and I have 4,273 pictures just from it. Plus a full memory card not yet added to the computer. And this is just from the one camera. I need to go back and delete. A lot. But I don't even know where to start. It would take ages. I guess that's another resolution, then- to delete a lot of my pictures on my computer.
-Life. To be "more chill". I'm sorry, there's really no other way to put this. To go with things. To be less selfish. To be kinder. To worry less. To fight less. Basically, to realize that I can't control the world, and that I shouldn't try.

So, I just said I'm not one to make New Years Resolutions. And then I spat out this. Ha.
I intended this to be a short little thing, but I guess the more I thought about it the more there was to resolve :).

Happy New Year!

Well, I hope your 2010 was amazing, and your 2011 is even better.

These are great resolutions, Stacey. I totally understand the feeling of slacking off in school, and the whole "taking too many pictures". Hah. So I buy a camera. ;) Haha... We'd better both work on the control.

Good luck with your resolutions, girl! Hang in there! :)
