he lives, he lives, who once was dead

I know that my Redeemer lives!
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever living head!

Easter. A season of bunnies, brightly colored eggs, and lots and lots of food. It's wonderful, it really is. Especially the food part.

But sometimes in all of the planning and baking and dyeing and dress-shopping, we forget what it's really about.

 He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death;

He lives my mansion to prepare;
He lives to bring me safely there.

Because, really, this day is what it's all about. As Paul wrote in Corinthians, "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is in vain." If Christ hadn't been raised from the dead, then nothing else would matter. By his death and resurrection he won salvation for our fallen race.

Without this, we would have no hope.

The Easter Bunny sort of pales in comparison.

Have a wonderful Easter!

Love, Stacey.

He lives, all glory to his name!
He lives, my savior, still the same;
What joy this blest assurance gives:
I know that my Redeemer lives!

Happy Easter! I actually celebrate it for the original reason, but whatever the reason, it's a fun holiday :)
